Mayor Rahm Emanuel is outlining his plans for a “New Chicago.” The infrastructure projects planned in his first term — including renovating CTA stations, repaving half of the city’s 2,000 miles of streets and rebuilding so many parks that at least one will be within a 10-minute walk of every Chicagoan — are expected to cost $7.2 billion and will create 30,000 jobs. think-progress:
Oral contraceptives, or “the pill,” can cost $1,210 per year without health insurance.
Women of reproductive age spend 68 percent more on out-of-pocket health care costs than do men, in part because of contraceptive costs.
