This video is EXTREMELY interesting. It seems to prey on people who think that all initiatives and new laws are the offspring and responsibility of the executive branch. I think a lot of people REALLY think that (oh well Obama said he’d do … but really …).

Except that each repeated plea set up here is a President urging action from Congress and the private sector. If you changed the music and the title this could be a democratic ad talking about an obstructionist congress.

I’ve never understood why the right doesn’t spend more time trying, with their ads, to draw in people who don’t already think like them. This ad seems to me like it would only further indulge people who already identify as Republican. If Gingrich (probably even Romney) is the candidate, I don’t think you’re going to see an apathetic liberal base, so just firing up the base on the right alone won’t be enough.
